Appointments - make them online!
We are gradually moving to online appointments. This applies to all doctor appointments at Brigg (except our late slots on a monday and tuesday as we have to remind patients that the front door will be closed after 6.30). Online appointments save our time and allows you to better choose an appointment with the doctor you want, when you want. The feedback we get for this is excellent. Please come in and register for this service at reception.
Morning and Afternoon surgeries are by appointment. There is also an appointment surgery on Thursday lunchtime. Appointments can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.
In addition one doctor does an "open access" surgery every morning. This is for patients who have an urgent problem. You do not need to ring to make an appointment, but you must be prepared to wait.
Friday afternoon surgery is mainly for acute problems which cannot wait over the weekend and appointments can only be booked on the day
None of the doctors work every day in the surgery, as they also do other outside work. So although it is always possible to see the doctor of your choice, you may have to be flexible about the day and time.
Telephone Appointments
It saves carbon emissions and it saves time to 'see' the doctor on the phone. If you think your problem is suitable - please make a telephone appointment with the doctor of your choice and please be available i.e. not engaged or out - when we ring.
Chaperones
This practice does not routinely offer chaperones during examinations. If any patient wishes to have a chaperone or a family member present during any examination or procedure please ask. This may cause a delay in the doctor being able to carry out the necessary examination.
