Urgent Care Service Providers
The following is a list of alternative providers of urgent care. They can be accessed directly by patients. When the demand for urgent appointments is very high, the practice’s capacity to provide them may be exceeded; in this situation, you will need to use one of the alternative providers listed below.

These “walk-in” centres are run by experienced clinicians usually including GPs. Some have access to investigations such as blood tests, ECGs, and X-Rays.
They can diagnose and deal with many of the common urgent problems that present to both general practice and A&E such as:
- stomach pain
- coughs, colds and breathing problems
- vomiting and diarrhoea
- skin infections and rashes
- high temperature in children and adults
- mental health problems
- broken bones and sprains
- injuries, cuts and bruises
- wound dressing
- emergency contraception
